IT Helpdesk Technician 1


Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Helpdesk Technician 1 serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance for computing, networking, and phone issues. This individual will provide technical support over the phone, via remote access, and in person. The IT Helpdesk Technician 1 is expected to maintain the highest levels of professionalism and grace when communicating with our Employees, Vendors, and other relevant parties. The ability to communicate concisely, positively, and in a friendly manner is essential to this position’s success. 


Essential Functions:

  • Full setup, deployment, and maintenance of IT equipment.

  • Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, wireless devices, network and all other IT related products.

  • Maintain inventory database for all company equipment, keeping track of all assets on and offsite.

  • Update/create IT documentation and processes.

  • Assist with providing one-on-one and group training for peers, including IT Onboarding, trainings on new technologies, hardware/software and process changes.

  • Maintain and grow knowledge of relevant technologies, products, services, and best practices to provide technically accurate, appropriate and creative service solutions for employees.

  • Monitor daily network activities to identify and resolve continuing problems or unusual situations.

  • Participate in after-hours on-call incident alert rotation schedule.

  • Execute employee onboarding/offboarding - AD, GApps, Stride chat service, access keycards, proper access to Jira/Confluence pages.

  • Installation of Meraki profile/agents on user devices. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to improve process leading to improved customer and/or Teammate experience 

  • Current practical, "hands-on" experience with modern tech stacks and architectures

  • Experience in IT operations and/or IT security

  • Experience in Windows, MacOS, and Unix (especially Linux) System administration activities

  • Change Management experience
